The Roncalli boys’ basketball team was in Chilton looking to start a new win streak.
The Jets dominated the second half to defeat the Tigers 58-29 in an EWC contest in Chilton.
The matchup started slow, with Roncalli only taking an 18-13 lead into the break, but the Jets started the second half with overpowering offense and stifling defense, a 14-0 run that gave the Jets a comfortable lead, which they would never relinquish.
The Jets’ defense allowed only one free throw attempt by the Tigers and played great defense all night without fouling.
It was a relatively balanced offensive attack for Roncalli, as Maddix Gulseth led the way with 19 points, and was aided by 13 points from Carter Kilbride and 10 from Dominik Frozena.
Mason Pagel led the Tigers’ offensive attack with 10 points. With the win, Roncalli improves to 9-3 overall and 6-1 in the EWC, while Chilton continues to search for its first win of the season.
Roncalli will try to make it three in a row as they travel to Sheboygan Falls next Friday, while Chilton is set to invade St. Lawrence Seminary on Tuesday.
