A Northeastern Wisconsin defense company has again received a massive order from the United States Military.
Oshkosh Defense has announced that it has inked a $53 million contract with the U.S. Army to construct Heavy Tactical Vehicles. The order, placed by U.S. Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA), is for numerous Common Bridge Transporters (CBTs).
The CBT allows “units to keep combat formations advancing when terrain and threat conditions complicate mobility.”
They are also designed to extend the Army’s mobility by delivering and positioning bridge assets across wet gaps.
On the new order, Chief Programs Officer for Oshkosh Defense, Pat Williams, said, “The Common Bridge Transporter reflects the performance and reliability that define Oshkosh heavy tactical vehicles. We’re honored to continue supporting the U.S. Army with proven systems designed to perform in demanding, contested logistic environments.”
