The DNR has reviewed an air pollution control exemption filed by Manitowoc’s Briess Industries Inc.
The company filed the exemption with the DNR in December for the construction, operation, and testing of a thermal oxidizer for control of VOC emissions from the malt roasting process.
This project would be happening at the Briess Malt and Ingredients Plant in Manitowoc.
After a review, the DNR determined that the project would “not present a significant hazard to public health, safety or welfare, or to the environment.”
The public does have the opportunity to voice any comments on the application or the review by visiting the DNR website, or sending a letter to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Bureau of Air Management, 101 South Webster Street, Box 7921, Madison, WI, 53707-7921, Attn.: Dave Minkey.
