Young musicians from the Plymouth area are set to perform on a grand stage.
Riverview Middle School’s 7th Grade Band has been invited by the State of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Music Educators Association to perform at the annual Capitol Concert Series.
This year, the Riverview 7th Grade Band will be tasked with kicking off the concert series, as they will be the first performance in the Capitol building’s rotunda, beginning at noon on March 3rd.
Riverview is one of just 10 school-age music ensembles to perform, which the music department sees as a prestigious honor.
On the lasting impact this performance will have on his students, band teacher Mike Fedyszyn said, “This performance is a great opportunity for our students to instill a culture of excellence, pride, dedication, and happiness through music in our community.”
While Riverview principal Tom Dorgan said pridefully, “This experience reflects the hard work, preparation, and teamwork our students demonstrate each day.”
The Sheboygan Area School District’s Elementary Choir, made up of students from 14 schools, will also perform in the Capitol rotunda on March 19th.
