Bail has been set for a Manitowoc man facing charges after fleeing a fender bender.
36-year-old Uriah L. Oliver was given a $1,000 recognizance bond yesterday (January 14th) by Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa as he faces one count of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
This charge comes after Oliver was arrested on Tuesday (January 13th) following an incident at the Citgo gas station on North 8th Street.
After backing into a vehicle behind him, Oliver fled the scene but was later tracked down by Manitowoc Police.
While officially only charged with Bail Jumping, the 36-year-old was given municipal citations after the fender bender for Hit and Run and Operating Without a Valid License, his second such citation in the past three years.
The Bail Jumping charge stems from an open Retail Theft case he was charged in back in September.
Additional terms of Oliver’s bond include not being permitted to operate a motor vehicle.
He will next be back in Manitowoc County court on February 5th for his initial appearance at 10:30 a.m.
