A Manitowoc man has been arrested following an incident at the Manitowoc Public Library.
Manitowoc Police were called to the library Monday evening (January 12th) on a report of a man acting inappropriately toward children.
The caller told police that a man approached a child who was studying for a school presentation and asked them how old they were, and later came back to ask them if they “wanted to lose their virginity.”
Upon arrival at the library, an officer located a 32-year-old man matching the description given by the victim.
The 32-year-old continued to tell police he did indeed ask the victim how old they were, but denied ever asking if they wanted to lose their virginity.
The incident report continues to say that after the ordeal, the victim feared that they could be kidnapped and possibly raped by the suspect.
The 32-year-old was eventually arrested on one charge of Disorderly Conduct and subsequently transported to the Manitowoc County Jail.
At this time, the suspect’s first court date remains undetermined.
