A Calumet County man charged in the homicide of his father has entered his plea.
22-year-old Ethan Graverson pleaded not guilty last Friday after he waived his preliminary hearing at his adjourned initial appearance.
A criminal complaint says Graverson and his father got into an argument before the father was shot.
Ethan allegedly said he had to shoot him because he was “acting crazy.”
The 22-year-old also told law enforcement that he had gotten a gun from the garage and took it into the house with him because there was tension between him and his father for years, which included mental and emotional abuse.
After Graverson shot his father multiple times inside their home in the Town of Woodville, he would set the gun down, dial 911, and go outside, where sheriff’s deputies found him.
He’s currently being held on a $1 million cash bail and will return to court on April 27th for his next hearing.
If convicted, he would face a mandatory life sentence, but a judge could decide if he would be eligible for parole.
