The Manitowoc Warming Shelter has announced the date for a major fundraising event.
This year’s Coldest Night of the Year walk is scheduled for Friday, February 28th, and will once again be held at First Lutheran Church on North 8th Street.
Teams are encouraged to sign up for the 1.5-mile walk and raise as much as they can in pledges.
Everyone who raises $150 will receive a free toque, and there are additional prizes for the team that raises the most.
Event Organizer, Pastor Matt Sauer, calls the event “This is a chance for us to turn compassion into action, to make the cold night warmer for someone else, and to do it together as a community. Whether you walk, give, recruit others, or cheer us on, you are part of the good we are building.”
Registration information can be found at CNOY.com, and more details on the Warming Shelter can be found at ManitowocWarmingShelter.org.
