As a part of the Christmas season, Manitowoc Elks Lodge #687 teamed up with the Salvation Army of Manitowoc County.
On Tuesday, December 16th, the two entities participated in an adopt-a-family event, where Elks Lodge members handed out gifts and blankets to families in need.
Additionally, the lodge donated $4,500, with $2,000 going to the Salvation Army and the rest going to support 32 local families to help them enjoy a merry Christmas.
The funds were made possible from the Elks National Foundation (ENF) based out of Chicago and local fundraising efforts through the Lodge #687 Fidelity club.
Lodge Exalted Ruler Tim Ahrens said of the event, “I have never seen so many smiling faces, and happy people.”
