Manitowoc Lutheran senior guard Makiah Krause surpassed the 1,000-point mark for her career Friday night in a game against the Hilbert Wolves at Lancer Circle.
She set the mark on a steal and a layup as the Lancers defeated Hilbert 71 to 22 in a Big East North Division game Friday night at Lancer Circle.
Krause tells seehafernews.com that it was great to reach the milestone at home and that many people contributed to this achievement.
” I am so incredibly thankful. It’s been such a fun high school career. I’m just super thankful, and I couldn’t have done this without the support of my coaches. teammates and parents.”
Lancers head coach Mike Behnke says Makiah sets the example for what it means to be a Lancer.
” It’s always great to see kids with the work ethic of Makiah to achieve these milestones. She’s such a humble kid, and it’s something we emphasize in the Lancer family and Lancer Nation that we want to continue for generations to come.”
Krause scored 14 points as the Lancers improved to 4- 1 in the Big East North and 10- 2 overall.
She also has over 1,000 career assists for the two-time state champion Lancers volleyball team and has represented M.L.H.S at the WIAA State Track and Field championships in La Crosse.
