A man was arrested in Manitowoc on his 7th OWI.
Manitowoc Police officers were first dispatched to the Kwik Trip on South 42nd Street at 2:00 this morning (January 9th) after a worker reported an intoxicated man had just left the store.
While one officer got the worker’s written statement, another spotted the vehicle driving east on Dewey Street near South 35th Street.
The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the 52-year-old man behind the wheel kept driving.
He eventually pulled into the parking lot of the Amoco gas station on Dewey and came to a stop.
When asked if he had been drinking, the man said he had no comment, but eventually admitted to drinking.
The officer asked if the man would be willing to conduct a field sobriety test, to which he allegedly responded, “What’s the point?”
He was taken to a local hospital for an evidentiary blood draw before being booked in the Manitowoc County Jail on a charge of OWI, his 7th offense.
