Two of the top three girls’ basketball teams in the EWC meet tonight in Valders as the Vikings host the Sheboygan Falls Falcons.
The Vikings are 4-1 in conference, a game behind co-leaders Sheboygan Falls and Kiel.
They’ve played well on their home court, winning four of five games, but battle a Falcon team that has had their number in recent years.
Seniors Megan Hochkammer and Zoey Siders average a combined 31.5 points per game, with Hochkammer shooting nearly 50% from the floor and Siders making nearly 46% of her three-point shots.
Sheboygan Falls junior Mollie Schliewe leads the Falcons in scoring at about 14 points per game on 57% shooting from the field, better than 80% from the line, and she leads the team in rebounding at better than 7.5 per game.
Senior Mackenzie Schneider averages 13 points and a team-leading 4.2 assists while grabbing more than 7 rebounds per game for the Falcons.
Sheboygan Falls comes to Valders, struggling a bit, having lost three consecutive non-conference games, including a 74-70 setback to Manitowoc Lutheran last Saturday.
