The Sheboygan County Human Trafficking Task Force has taken the time to reflect upon another impactful year.
The Task Force is a “multidisciplinary team of community members that are committed to empowering survivors of human trafficking through community education, prevention, and partnerships.”
In 2025, the group went to great lengths to prioritize awareness and prevention. This was highlighted by the group receiving the Excellence in Outreach/Prevention Award at the Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children Conference.
This award recognized the Task Force’s effort and dedication to educate parents and schools regarding internet safety.
Another major highlight from the past year was the first-ever Sheboygan County Sensitive Crimes Symposium, which welcomed over 100 attendees from area communities, focusing on victim-centered topics including human trafficking, sexual assault, and domestic violence.
In 2025, the group was also able to expand its youth outreach, which included presenting to over 450 students at both Howards Grove High Schools and the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah middle and high schools, teaching about human trafficking, social media usage, and internet safety.
In total, the Task Force was able to give 10 presentations during the year, reaching 600 youth and over 1,200 community members.
