An Oshkosh man is facing numerous charges after leading two sheriff’s departments on short chases.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says a trooper tried to stop 43-year-old David G. Leatherberry on Interstate 41 northbound at mile marker 143 this morning (January 6th) just before 1:40 a.m. for speeding in a construction zone.
But the 43-year-old Leatherberry didn’t stop, and a pursuit started.
The trooper ended the pursuit shortly thereafter.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office then found Leatherberry driving over 100 mph and tried to initiate a pursuit.
However, theirs ended as well. Eventually, the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office found Leatherberry and pulled him over on County Road E and Seminary Road.
The suspect refused to do a field sobriety test and was placed under arrest for Operating While Intoxicated, a 4th offense.
He was also charged with fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, deviating from a designated lane, failure to keep a vehicle under control, and four counts of felony bail jumping.
Court records show that Leatherberry has several open cases, including substantial battery, strangulation and suffocation, and felony bail jumping.
