Manitowoc police were led on a slow speed chase earlier this week.
A Manitowoc police officer was sitting in a parking lot just before 8:00 Thursday evening, when they noticed a vehicle without its lights on driving along South 10th Street.
The officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, however, the driver, 46-year-old Jacob M. Hauschultz, kept driving.
He turned left onto Franklin Street, then onto Water Street, South 15th Street, and Wollmer Street before finally pulling over.
The officer noted that the vehicle never went faster than 19 MPH during the pursuit.
Hauschultz claimed he didn’t see the squad car’s lights or hear the siren before being placed under arrest.
K9 Rolo was called to scene, which helped police uncover two open suboxone packages in the vehicle.
While being medically cleared at a local hospital, a baggie of drugs was found in his person, which turned out to be methamphetamine.
In total, Hauschultz was charged with Resisting an Officer by Failing to Stop or Fleeing, and Possession of Methamphetamine, a Controlled Substance Inside of Jail, and another Controlled Substance.
Hauschultz was given a $500 cash bail by Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa and was ordered to maintain absolute sobriety, and he is not to possess any controlled substances.
He is due back in court on Monday (January 5th) for his initial appearance in Branch 3.
