An Oklahoma woman is facing federal charges for the sexual abuse of a child from Northeastern Wisconsin.
United States Attorney Brad Schimel has shared that last week, 24-year-old Randi L. Cook of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, was charged with Interstate Travel with Intent to Engage in a Sexual Act with a Minor, Production of Child Pornography, and Coercing or Enticing a Minor for Unlawful Sexual Activity.
A criminal complaint states that between November 7th and December 16th, Cook began online communication with the Northeastern Wisconsin minor, eventually convincing the child to send sexually explicit images of themselves to her.
Additionally, the 24-year-old crossed state lines, driving to Wisconsin on more than one occasion, to sexually abuse the child at both a hotel and at a short-term rental.
This case was investigated by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, which, after Schimel’s announcement, stated, “We will continue to make these cases a priority, to protect our most vulnerable victims.”
If convicted of any of the federal charges she faces, Cook could spend up to anywhere between 10 years and life in prison, and would be required to register as a sex offender for life.
