A Manitowoc woman has been arrested after a family friend reported a string of abusive acts performed on a child.
A Manitowoc Police Officer was dispatched to a residence just before 10:00 Sunday evening to investigate the report.
The man told police that the 40-year-old woman would wake her child, whose name and age were redacted, up by kicking them, and would regularly backhand the child if they gave her any attitude.
The witness estimated that the abuse had been going on for at least three years.
He and another individual shared a video with the officer, on which the victim can be seen falling to the ground before the woman strikes the child multiple times.
One of the witnesses noticed injuries on the child and asked how they got them, but the child refused to say anything.
A second video showed the suspect kicking the child and telling them to get up.
The suspect admitted to pushing the child into a door frame, but denied that anything else had happened.
Several other abuse incidents were also reported, leading to the woman being arrested on a single charge of Physical Abuse of a Child Intentionally Causing Bodily Harm.
