A Fond du Lac Man has been arrested in a child pornography case.
Court documents show that 66-year-old Jeffrey J. Riggs made his initial appearance in Fond du Lac County Court on Friday (December 26th) as he faces 10 felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
At Friday’s hearing, Riggs had his bond set at $100,000 cash and had a preliminary hearing scheduled.
Court records also state that the 66-year-old was arrested in relation to an incident that occurred on October 1st earlier this year.
In response to these charges, Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney said, “We will aggressively prosecute anyone who possesses or manufactures child sexual assault material (CSAM) in order to protect children and our community, regardless of who the defendant is.”
He also noted, “These horrendous crimes also take a toll on investigators who must review the CSAM to build these cases, and we appreciate their dedicated efforts to take these individuals off our streets to protect our children.”
Other terms of Riggs’ bond include no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18, including family members, no access to file-sharing programs, no access to the internet.
Riggs will return to court on February 13th for a preliminary hearing.
