The Two Rivers Parks and Recreation Department has given more details on how they plan to use a grant they recently received.
Earlier this month, the City was selected to receive $50,000 from the T-Mobile Hometown Grant Program, which was matched by the West Foundation.
The $100,000 will be combined with a $324,500 DNR Stewardship Grant, giving the city just shy of $425,000 for a multi-phase project.
In the December Parks and Rec Newsletter, the department explained that phase 1 will “focus on infrastructure improvements including new restrooms, enhanced pathways and lighting, security cameras, relocated parking, and river access amenities such as the ADA‐accessible kayak launch and paddle craft ramp.”
The department will also begin fundraising in 2026 to build a new skatepark, which is a part of phase 2 of the project.
There are some funds available for that already, as Two Rivers Utilities donated $2,500 through their WPPI Value of Local Utility Funds.
