The Kiel Fire Department is showing off a brand new piece of equipment.
A video was posted to the Department Facebook page, showcasing the new Pierce Velocity Pumper, which was delivered to the Department in October.
The truck is equipped with a Cummins X12 engine producing 500 hp, a Pierce PUC™ midship pump capable of 1500 gpm, a 1000-gallon water tank, a Husky 3 foam system, a Command Zone™ electrical system, independent front suspension, and an on-board generator.
These features are designed to help enhance the Department’s operational capacity and reliability on all of its calls.
The Department thanked the community “for your continued support. Your commitment and investment in the safety of our citizens have made this important addition to our fleet possible. This new engine represents more than a piece of equipment… it is a tool that will serve our residents for many years, improving our ability to protect lives and property.”
