A local couple has received an award from the Wisconsin Athletic Directors Association.
Mary and Rick Hoffman were given the Wisconsin Athletic Service Award for their countless dedicated hours of service to Manitowoc Lincoln High School and the Manitowoc Public School District.
Rick was an athlete at Lincoln and has coached at all levels of multiple sports.
Mary, meanwhile, recently retired from the district after teaching elementary school for more than 30 years.
She was also instrumental in making two upgrade projects a reality, including the refurbishment of the JFK Fieldhouse and the upgrading of Rubick Field.
The couple stated on Facebook, “We were very honored and extremely shocked and surprised to receive this service award. Neither one of us do anything for recognition, but we feel very honored to be able to help in many ways with the young people in the community.”
