The City of Sheboygan is making residents aware of changes to the curbside collection schedule during the holidays.
With Christmas and New Year’s Day both falling on a Thursday, scheduled collections will be pushed back for some residents over the next two weeks.
Those who get their trash and recycling picked up on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday will see no change.
However, the Sheboygan Department of Public Works will not be collecting items this Thursday or next Thursday.
Instead, those with Thursday collections will have their items picked up on Friday, and regular Friday collections will now take place on Saturday over the next two weeks.
Hours at the Sheboygan Residential Recycling Center will be affected for the next two weeks as well. The recycling center will be closed on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday each week.
As recyclable items tend to pile up over the holidays, the DPW will have an additional recycling truck stationed at the Recycling Center from today (December 22nd) through January 9th.
The City hopes that this accommodation helps eliminate overflow from items that do not fit in standard curbside collection bins.
Questions regarding these changes can be directed to the Sheboygan Department of Public Works by calling 920-459-3440.
