A farm in Valders is being recognized by a statewide farm cooperative.
CentralStar Cooperative has revealed this year’s ReproStar Awards, which recognize dairy operations for elite reproductive performance.
Included in this year’s list is Hi-Tower Farms in Valders, owned by Ethan and Loren Ulness and AJ Manke.
Hi-Tower farms milks 520 cows and is being praised for their work in herd health and fertility.
CentralStar specifically noted, “The herd averages a 34% pregnancy rate, with third-lactation-and-older cows at 33%.”
Also honored this year were Murph-Ko Farms in Eden, McFarlandale Dairy in Watertown, and Wayside Dairy in Greenleaf, which has received the award in the past as well.
For the first time since its inception in 2019, CentralStar expanded the ReproStar Award to include a new honor: Most Improved, which went to Abel Dairy Farms in Eden.
