The former Oconto Falls school staff member accused of sexually assaulting students was in court yesterday, and with that, more details have come out.
FOX11 reports that 60-year-old Gayle Gander was an English teacher at the school and served as the director of the performing arts center prior to being accused of sexually assaulting at least five different students.
While formal charges have yet to be filed, the prosecutors claim that Gander would give the victims massages multiple times over a several-month span, an action they called “grooming activities.”
Gander admits to giving the massages, but claimed they were innocent and intended to help the students relax.
As many as eleven charges are expected to be filed by the end of the week.
Gander is being held in the Oconto County jail on a $75,000 cash bond, and his next court date will be scheduled after the criminal complaint is filed.
