The Salvation Army of Manitowoc County is offering another way to donate to their annual holiday campaign from the comfort of your vehicle.
The first yearly Drive-Thru Red Kettle event takes place on Friday (December 19th) from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Shoreline Hometown Credit Union on Calumet Avenue in Manitowoc.
Development Director Michael Pearson explains that the family-friendly event invites the community to swing by and make a kettle donation without getting out of their car.
However, there will be an opportunity to meet local Salvation Army staff, snap a photo with the giant red kettle, and tour the group’s Emergency Disaster Services vehicle.
The Drive-Thru Red Kettle Event supports their Red Kettle Campaign, which this year aims to raise $125,000.
Funding will allow for critical programs for thousands of people to continue.
Hot dogs and hot chocolate will also be served to those attending.
Salvation Army of Manitowoc County Lieutenant Samantha Tamayo says the event is “a chance for neighbors to give, learn, connect, and see firsthand how their generosity keeps hope alive in Manitowoc County.”
