The Lincoln girls looked to keep their winning streak intact when they welcomed the Ashwaubenon Jaguars into the JFK last night (December 16th).
Despite some major woes from outside, the Ships were able to take down the Jaguars 44-41 in this FRCC matchup. Lincoln, coming off a red-hot shooting performance from their last game, hit just 2 of the 22 3-point attempts they took in the first half but still managed to hold a 5-point 22-17 lead at the break.
Led by junior Lauren Seeling, Ashwaubeon was able to briefly take the lead in the second thanks to some good interior play on both ends of the floor.
However, the Ships woke up in that second period with seniors Sarah Bolchen and Taylor Peterson finding their groove to retake the lead.
Peterson would step to the free throw line with 14 seconds remaining with a chance to take a four-point lead, however, she would miss, giving the Jags a chance to tie it up at the buzzer, but a late turnover would seal the deal for Lincoln.
Peterson led the way for the Ships, finishing with 17, while Seeling ended with a game-high 18.
Lincoln improves to 4-3 on the year, 2-1 in the FRCC.
They will next be in action on Friday for another conference matchup on the road against a tough Notre Dame squad.
