
An Outagamie County man is facing federal charges after a bank robbery.
Brad D. Schimel, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, has announced that 43-year-old Martin Muniz-Lara of Greenville has been federally charged with Armed Bank Robbery and Brandishing a Firearm During and in Relation to a Crime of Violence.
According to the indictment, on October 17th earlier this year, Muniz-Lara brandished a firearm while forcibly taking money from a federally insured bank in Bear Creek, located in northwestern Outagamie County.
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation into the case with help from the FBI, the Oshkosh Police Department, and the Outagamie County District Attorney’s Office.
If convicted of both federal charges he faces, the 43-year-old could face a life sentence in prison, with a minimum of seven years behind bars if found guilty of Brandishing a Firearm During and in Relation to a Crime of Violence
This case will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Andrew J. Maier in the United States District Court in Green Bay.
