Wisconsin says avian flu has been detected in a Dodge County dairy herd.
The Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection says this is the first detection in dairy cattle in the state, and the farm has been quarantined.
Officials also noted that any cows showing signs of illness will be moved from the herd for more treatment.
The department said there’s no concern about consumer health since the milk is pasteurized before going to market.
