Some Aurora Health Care hospitals are very good at caring for people who want to have children.
An announcement from the healthcare group explains that U.S. News and World Report ranked nine of its hospitals among the “Best Hospitals for Maternity Care.”
That includes Aurora Medical Center of Manitowoc County, Aurora Medical Center of Sheboygan County, and Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay as “high-performing” maternity hospitals.
U.S. News began evaluating the maternity care hospitals in 2021, rating hospitals that provide labor and delivery services and submit detailed data to the publication for analysis.
The “best” hospitals rating is based entirely on objective measures of quality, such as c-section rates in lower-risk pregnancies, severe unexpected newborn complication rates, exclusive breast milk feeding rates, birthing-friendly practices, and reporting on racial/ethnic disparities, among other measures.
That means the nine hospitals recognized in Aurora are considered the best in the nation based on well-above-average outcomes.
The healthcare group explains that it offers services such as state-of-the-art birthing suites, on-site lactation consultants and classes, and support groups to help people who want to have kids.
