The two men charged with abducting a 16-year-old Manitowoc girl last month appeared in a Wyoming courtroom Friday and waived extradition.
Alexcer Solis Gomez and Pedro Perez Giron are facing several charges in Manitowoc County, including Kidnapping and interference with parental custody, along with abduction.
Two Rivers Police were called to a home in the city on November 28th to check for the girl after her family reported her missing after she did not show up for work.
One criminal complaint alleges that officers entered through a partially opened door, with witnesses saying the girl left with a friend and was expected to stay the night.
Meanwhile, others in the neighborhood said they saw the girl leave with a Hispanic male, with a thorough investigation confirming that she was last seen being picked up from a friend’s house by an unknown male in a sedan with California plates.
Police confirmed that she had been taken out of state by tracking her cellphone, and, in collaboration with several law enforcement agencies, the Wyoming State Patrol located and stopped the suspect vehicle on Interstate 80 the following day.
Solis Gomez told police that he was paid to bring her to California to stay with her boyfriend.
The girl had been in the process of returning to her family, and both defendants face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
