As community support continues to flow in, the Sheboygan County Food Bank has upped its year-end fundraising goal.
In the six weeks since the Food Bank kicked off its annual year-end giving match campaign, over $460,000 has been raised, just $40,000 short of the half-million goal.
With nearly three weeks remaining until the campaign comes to an end at the end of December, the Food Bank has raised its fundraising goal to $600,000.
In 2025, the food bank is averaging 5,300 family visits per month, with that number increasing over the past few months due to uncertainty in the dispersal of SNAP benefits and the continual rise of food prices.
Additionally, this school year, the Food Bank’s Food for Thought for Kids program is providing 650 students in the county with meals over the weekends, placing a heightened need for support.
Any donations given between now and December 31st will be matched by the Black Spring Foundation, meaning that any support given will have its impact doubled.
With this, the Food Bank hopes that hitting that new $600,000 fundraising goal will ensure that $1.2 million will help families, children, seniors, and veterans throughout Sheboygan County facing food insecurity.
