Time is running out to apply for funding through the Manitowoc County Fish and Game’s FORWARD Endowment.
Groups focused on hunting, fishing, or conservation have until December 31st to apply for endowment funding.
The money is provided to different groups to help improve Manitowoc County’s conservation efforts.
Dean Halverson with the unit says there has been only one completed application, though several applications have been downloaded and requested.
FORWARD, or Friends of Resources, Wildlife, and Recreational Development, was completely redesigned in 2024 to provide groups with more flexibility in funding projects and to allow for larger projects if deemed appropriate by the Manitowoc County Fish and Game.
The actual selection of grants will be made at the Gift Committee’s meeting no later than March 2026.

The endowment has awarded over $158,000 in grants since it began in 1993.
