One of the suspects in a drug ring bringing narcotics from Chicago to the Green Bay area is heading to prison.
Court records show that 54-year-old Michael Oliver appeared in Brown County court on Tuesday (December 9th) for his sentencing hearing after being found guilty of charges of Manufacturing or Delivering Cocaine and Fentanyl.
At Tuesday’s hearing, Judge Donald Zuidmulder ordered Oliver to spend 15 years behind bars, followed by 12 years on extended supervision.
Originally, the 54-year-old also faced charges of Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place and Possession of THC; however, those charges were dismissed.
Oliver is one of 47 individuals charged in the large-scale operation that brought significant amounts of both fentanyl and cocaine from Chicago to the streets of Brown County.
Last summer, five search warrants were executed in the county, along with the raid of a stash house in Chicago that uncovered 12 kilograms of fentanyl, four kilos of cocaine, 748 grams of methamphetamine, 460 grams of heroin, and 16 guns.
Felton Currie, the leader of the multi-state drug ring, was sentenced to 40 years in prison earlier this year, while others implicated in the operation are still making their way through the legal system.
