The Mikadow Theater in Manitowoc is bringing back a popular holiday tradition that started just last year.
Tonight (December 11th) is opening night for Brent Holland’s A Krampus Carol, which blends Charles Dickens’ beloved story of a Christmas Carol with centuries-old European folklore.
The show is based on the horned Alpine figure known for punishing the naughty.
But fast-paced, heartfelt, and irreverent comedy has the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future trying to get Krampus to change his ways before it’s too late.
Producer Kurt Duzeski calls the show “festive, funny, and ultimately about redemption, even for Krampus.”
The show starts at 7:00 p.m. tonight, 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, and there’s a Sunday matinee at 3:00 p.m.
If you can’t make it this week, the show runs again next week.
It will be on Friday (December 19th) at 7:00 p.m., Saturday (December 20th) at 3:00 p.m., and Sunday (December 21st) at 3:00 p.m.
Tickets are available online at mikadow.com, with doors opening an hour before the show.
The ticket to the show also includes an invitation to the Krampus After Show for adults only.
Last year’s production was Mikadow’s best-selling show of the season, drawing audiences from across the region.
