Wisconsin officials are sending out a warning about avian influenza taking out a backyard poultry flock in Marquette County.
The Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection announced yesterday that bird flu killed the entire flock, impacting more than three dozen birds.
Officials also noted the birds in that flock won’t be entering the food system.
The department encouraged livestock owners to take strong biosecurity measures and keep birds indoors whenever possible.
