Bail has been set for a Manitowoc man facing child pornography charges.
20-year-old Brandon M. Lemerond was given a $20,000 cash bond by Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa yesterday (December 9th).
Lemerond has been charged with 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography and eight counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child.
These charges arose when the Manitowoc Police Department received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in October.
The tip claimed a Snapchat account was used in the distribution of child sexual abuse material, with the IP address leading authorities to the 20-year-old’s address on South 29th Street in Manitowoc.
Through investigation, Manitowoc PD found eight files containing child sexual abuse material on Lemerond’s Snapchat account, who later admitted to talking to the minor female victims using the app.
This is not Lemerond’s first time being arrested on a long list of charges relating to child sexual abuse material, as he faced 10 counts of Possession of Child Pornography by Person Under Age of 18 in 2023, however, he was given a plea deal, which saw him charged with just two counts and given four years on probation and no prison time.
Additional terms of his bond include no contact with anyone under the age of 18, and he is not to have access to any internet-enabled devices.
He will next return to court for an initial appearance on December 15th at 1:30 p.m.
