Bail has been set for the man arrested after crashing his car into a local business this past weekend.
29-year-old Ty J. Meyer was given a $5,000 recognizance bond by Court Commissioner Patricia Koppa at his bail hearing held yesterday (December 8th).
This decision comes as Meyer faces charges of OWI with a Child Under 16 in the Vehicle and Felony Possession of THC for the incident that took place on Friday evening (December 5th).
Manitowoc Police were called to the former Shopko parking lot after they received a report that a vehicle had collided with the American Family Insurance building.
Once on scene, officers made contact with the 29-year-old, the driver of the vehicle that hit the business, causing extensive damage.
Authorities say that Meyer appeared to be under the influence of drugs besides alcohol, with glossy eyes and a raspy voice, admitting he had consumed cough medicine prior to getting behind the wheel.
During his hearing yesterday, it was also revealed that his four-month-old child was in the vehicle when he drove it into the American Family Insurance building.
While searching his person, officers also found marijuana, prompting his Possession of THC charge.
Additional terms of his bond include absolute sobriety, and he is not to operate any motor vehicles.
He will next be due in court for his initial appearance on December 29th at 1:30 p.m. in Branch 3.
