The Manitowoc hockey community came out big to support one of their own.
During a benefit Friday night, supporters of the Manitowoc United High School Hockey team, as well as families from Shawano and Fond du Lac, raised over $4,000 to support Claudia Klein as she battles non-smoker’s lung cancer.
The team thanked “everyone who donated, showed up, and helped bring a smile to the Klein family. Your generosity and support truly made the night shine.”
While Manitowoc lost its varsity game against Shawano, Claudia’s son, David, tallied an assist in the game, adding to the magic of the evening.
A check was presented to Claudia and her family the following night as Manitowoc hosted Neenah.
