The City of Two Rivers has updated an ordinance for fencing on residential properties.
City staff say it now includes a uniform 36-inch setback for any fence or screening installed in a residential front yard, intended to improve visibility and safety near driveways and intersections.
The new ordinance also clarifies a maximum fence height in front and side yards and makes sure that a fence’s “good side” faces a neighboring property.
The updates were recommended by City Manager Kyle Kordell and the city’s plan commission to modernize the “outdated regulations,” improve various areas of the city, and provide clearer guidance for homeowners.
