The Wisconsin DNR is seeking public input on the state’s Turkey Management Plan.
They are looking to update the plan last implemented in 2015, which was designed to guide and inform statewide turkey management practices and priorities for 10 years.
As part of the revision process, the DNR created a committee composed of tribal agency representatives, hunting organizations, and conservation partners to better understand the interests and perspectives on Wisconsin’s turkey season.
The survey will first ask about turkey hunting before asking residents to review the previous plan and identify any changes needed for the next 10 years.
Public comments must be submitted by December 18th and may be sent to DNR Game Bird Specialist Taylor Finger via email at Taylor.Finger@wisconsin.gov.
The committee will convene to review feedback and begin developing a first draft of the Turkey Management Plan before it’s made public for further comments.
You can find the online public comment tool at dnr.wisconsin.gov.
