A new law surrounding school buses will be implemented in Two Rivers next year.
Effective January 1st, all school buses will be required to use flashing red lights at every stop within the City. Motorists must stop at least 20 feet from a bus with its red lights on and must remain stopped as long as the lights are flashing.
Motorists must also stop if the stop arm is extended, regardless of if you are approaching from the front or rear of the bus.
However, on divided highways, you are not required to stop for a bus with flashing red lights if your vehicle is on the opposite side of the highway, which is separated by a physical barrier or a median.
Any questions regarding the new school bus law can be directed to the City Clerkâs Office at (920) 793-5526
