
It will be a busy Saturday for local and area high school sports teams.
The Roncalli boys’ basketball team will look for a second win this week as they host Hamilton out of Milwaukee in a non-conference game at the Hangar.
The Jets opened their season with a convincing victory over Sheboygan Falls Tuesday night, while Hamilton comes to town with a record of 1 and 1. The tip is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Other boys’ games have Valders travelling to Cedar Grove-Belgium as part of a boy-girl doubleheader, Denmark is at Sturgeon Bay, Green Bay Southwest hosts Sevastopol, Green Bay Preble is home for Monona Grove, Appleton East visits Bay Port, and De Pere travels to Pewaukee.
In girls’ basketball, Valders looks to remain undefeated as they are at Cedar Grove-Belgium, and Elkhart Lake/Glenbeulah looks to stop a three-game losing streak at Sturgeon Bay against the Clippers.
There are several high school wrestling Invitationals scheduled for today around northeast Wisconsin.
Manitowoc Lincoln’s boys and girls are involved in a multi-school meet in Kimberly, with Brillion, Chilton, New Holstein, Kewaunee and Sturgeon Bay also part of the field.
Two Rivers boys and girls open their seasons competing at the Watertown Invitational, Valders grapplers travel to Lake Country Lutheran in Hartland, while Mishicot wrestlers are at a meet in Little Chute, and Kiel hosts an Invitational with Reedsville and Denmark part of the field.
Plymouth is hosting a boys’ swimming Invitational today.
The field consists of Manitowoc Lincoln, Kiel, Sheboygan North, and Sheboygan Christian.
Also, Roncalli-Two Rivers and Chilton are part of a meet being held at Oshkosh West.
