A local theater group will be doing its part this weekend to help out middle school students in Sheboygan.
The Sheboygan Theatre Company (STC) will be hosting a hygiene and food drive before each of its seven performances of Steel Magnolias over the next two weekends, with all items benefiting middle schoolers in the Sheboygan Area School District.
Steel Magnolias opens tonight (December 5th) at the Leslie W. Johnson Theatre at 7:00 p.m., and those attending this or any of the other performances are encouraged to stop by a little earlier than usual to drop off new, unopened hygiene items or nonperishable food items.
Hygiene items of most importance include deodorant, shampoo/conditioner, feminine hygiene products, and body wash, amongst others.
STC stated, “Steel Magnolias reminds us how powerful it is to show up for one another in practical, everyday ways…and this drive is one way to bring a little more comfort, confidence, and essential support to students in our community.”
Tickets to all seven performances are still available and can be purchased at the door, by calling 920-459-3773, or online by visiting stcshows.org.
A complete list of items the theater group is looking to collect for the SASD middle school students can be found by visiting the STC Facebook page.
