A former Green Bay Area School District board member will be going to trial.
FOX11 reports that 45-year-old Kou Lee was back in Brown County Court on charges of election fraud, nomination certification, and false swearing in a government setting.
He’ll return to court in January for his arraignment.
Lee resigned from the board after a report from the Green Bay Press-Gazette appeared to show that Lee might not have lived in the school district when he campaigned for the job or when he won his seat on the Green Bay school board.
One of his tax bills showed a lottery tax credit for the Village of Hobart, which is only available for primary residences.
If proven in court, it would mean it is outside the district’s boundary and would not have been eligible to run for the board seat.
However, Lee had claimed that he owned property in Hobart but lived in Green Bay.
A new person was appointed to the Green Bay School Board to fill the 45-year-old’s term through April next year.
