More information has been shared by authorities after a missing teenager from Manitowoc was found in Wyoming.
The Two Rivers Police Department was called on November 28th to check for a missing 16-year-old girl from Manitowoc after her family had not heard from her, and she did not show up for work.
A thorough investigation ensued, which confirmed to police that the girl was last seen being picked up from a friend’s house in Two Rivers by an unknown male in a sedan.
Using cell phone pings, Two Rivers Police were able to confirm that the 16-year-old had been taken out of state.
Authorities then worked with the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigations, WI Crime Alert (DCI WICAN) system, to alert other jurisdictions where the girl was traveling through or heading towards.
This included direct collaboration with the FBI, Nebraska State Patrol, Wyoming Highway Patrol, and the Wyoming DCI.
Thanks to this collaboration, on Saturday (November 29th), the Wyoming State Patrol located and stopped the vehicle that contained the female victim.
Along with her were two adult males who claimed they were paid to drive the 16-year-old to Utah.
The two unnamed suspects, one of whom is a Two Rivers man wanted on drug charges, were arrested and have since been charged with Kidnapping and Interference with Parental Custody, while the teenager is in the process of returning home to her family.
At this time, the investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and additional information is unavailable at this time.
