
Milwaukee’s Common Council approves the $2.5 million settlement for the in-custody death of Keishon Thomas.
On Tuesday, the council unanimously agreed to the settlement in the civil lawsuit brought by the family of Keishon Thomas.
The 20-year-old Thomas died while in custody at Milwaukee Police Department District Five after he was taken into custody for a traffic violation.
According to the criminal complaint, Thomas told police he ingested drugs prior to his arrest and died after being found in need of medical attention in his jail cell.
