A Waukesha mother charged in the death of her infant daughter, exposed to fentanyl in May 2024, is pleading no contest to first-degree reckless homicide.
Court records show the child was found not breathing, with first responders attempting life-saving efforts.
Autopsy results showed the infant had lethal levels of fentanyl in her blood.
An apartment search of Elida Tejeda’s residence uncovered uncapped needles and other drug paraphernalia, including fentanyl.
Tejeda is scheduled for sentencing in February 2026.
