One of many Manitowoc holiday traditions is opening in a couple of days.
The 14th Annual Lights in Lincoln Park gets underway on Friday (November 28th) from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with nearly 100 spectacular light displays, drive-thru tunnels, and other dazzling lighting effects.
Lincoln Park Zoo Society Coordinator Andi Janicki said on WOMT’s Be My Guest program that things have been ramping up over the last three to four months to talk to sponsors and set up the lights.
There are two new light displays this year.
“We’ve got two octopus that are very cool,” Janicki explained. “(They are in the) the fish of the seven seas zone, so check along the fence. I think they look pretty sweet.”
Visitors who want to get up close to the light displays can also enjoy the Family Fun Walks.
The next one will be on Wednesday, December 3rd, with the last walk happening on Tuesday, December 30th.
Admission is $5 for adults and $10 for a family. Santa Claus will also appear at Lincoln Park Cabin 1 for a couple of nights.
The Jolly Old Elf himself will show up on December 5th, 12th, and 19th during the same time Lights in Lincoln Park is open.
