The Manitowoc Lincoln boys basketball team kicked off its season Tuesday night with a home game against Plymouth.
It was a close battle in the first half, but in the end, the Panthers took down the Ships 77-64 at the JFK Fieldhouse.
The Ships battled back from down 15 in the first half, but were able to take a 30-30 tie into the break.
The Panthers seized control in the second half, securing the 13-point win.
Lincoln Senior Cade Grapentine was an assassin from beyond the arc, dropping six 3s in a 20-point outing, while the Panthers were led by future Michigan Tech player Caden Shultz, who led all scorers with 22 points.
The Ships will try to rebound next Tuesday when they host Menasha, while the Panthers will be at Sheboygan North on Thursday.
