Most Recent Preliminary Rendering of Urban Middle School Cafeteria
The Sheboygan Area School District has provided an update on the ongoing referendum projects at Urban and Farnsworth Middle Schools.
Currently, these two projects remain on schedule with a large majority of design aspects already completed.
With approximately 60 days remaining in this design phase, the district, Bray Architects, and Quasius and Smith have shifted their focus to detailed coordination, ensuring each school is equipped with all appropriate built in amenities.
At Urban Middle School, this includes integrating large portions of the existing building, addressing the former sunken boiler room, and managing varied grades and floor elevations from the west side to the east side of the property.
Alternatively, the work at Farnsworth will include largely new construction, which will have to be fitted into the limited space available at the school grounds.
This element has posed unique challenges for the design team to come up with the ideal placements for building and infrastructure elements.
The next steps for the design team will include final coordination with the City of Sheboygan and continued engineering collaboration.
